Kerry County Board have confirmed that Eamonn Fitzmaurice is to remain in place as senior manger for another year after his initial three-year term expired at the end of this season.

Fitzmaurice memorably managed Kerry to last year's All-Ireland title, while his tenure also saw the Kingdom lose  this year's decider.

County board chairman Patrick O'Sullivan had announced Fitzmaurice was to remain in his role at the team's homecoming following the loss to Dublin in the All-Ireland final, with that decision now ratified by the board.

There has been no announcement in relation to Fitzmaurice's backroom team.

Elsewhere, former senior manager Jack O'Connor is to take the under 21 reigns after leading Kerry minors to back-to-back All-Ireland successes.

O'Connor has been given a two-year contract with the under 21s, along with his backroom team of Eamonn Whelan, Michéal O'Shea  and Declan O'Sullivan.

Killarney Legion trainer Peter Keane is to replace O'Connor in the minor role, also on a two-year term.
