The Kerry county board have confirmed that Éamonn Fitzmaurice will remain on as senior manager for 2016.

County board chairman Patrick O'Sullivan confirmed the news at the team's homecoming in Tralee on Monday following the loss to Dublin in the All-Ireland final.

Fitzmaurice’s initial three-year term ended after the 0-12 to 0-09 defeat to Jim Gavin's side.

The Kerry management team of Mikey Sheehy, Diarmuid Murphy and trainer Cian O’Neill will also stay in their current roles.

On arriving in Tralee, Fitzmaurice described the nature of their defeat to the Dubs as "very raw" and said he felt his team hadn't done themselves justice in Croke Park.
