Tipperary forward Niall O'Meara has spoken about the motivation in the squad this year to makes amends for the couple of narrow losses at key moments during the 2014 Hurling Championship campaign.
Last year, Tipperary were knocked out of Munster after a narrow defeat at the hands of Limerick; they then went on to lose the All-Ireland final - after a replay - to Kilkenny.
"A lot of the lads, including myself, had no Munster medal and our aim at the start of the year was to put that right."
Ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final against Galway, the Kilruane MacDonagh's clubman told RTÉ Sport: "Last year we lost a couple of tight games. But if you learn from your losses, that’s always a positive and that has helped is in our motivation to do well this year.
O'Meara also highlighted the importance of Tipp regaining the Munster title following last month's win over Waterford.
"We hadn't performed in Munster in recent times so winning the title was a big deal. A lot of the lads, including myself, had no Munster medal and our aim at the start of the year was to put that right. Thankfully we achieved our goal. I think we put in a good level of performance in the wins over Limerick and Waterford but we've got to drive on now for Galway."
Speaking of Galway, O'Meara believes "it is hard to pick a weakness" in their team, while adding that the Tribesmen have "excellent man markers."
When asked what Tipperary will have to do to get the victory at the weekend, the 22-year-old simply mentioned "hard work" and manager Eamon O'Shea's motto that every player has a role to perform.
"Everyone has their own job and it’s up to everybody to do their job the best. We're all determined to get back to the All-Ireland final. It's a massive prize."
