Barry O'Driscoll admits Cork were 'fed up' of criticism ahead of Kerry draw

After drawing with Kerry in the Munster Football Championship final, Cork’s Barry O’Driscoll admitted that his side were “fed up” of the pre-match criticism that came their way.

A string of experts, such as RTÉ analysts Colm O’Rourke, Joe Brolly and Tomás Ó Sé, gave the Rebels little or no chance against the current Munster and All-Ireland champions ahead of the provincial decider in Killarney.

But it was Kerry that needed a stoppage-time point from Fionn Fitzgerald to secure a replay (18 July in Killarney) on a 2-15 to 3-12 scoreline.

“You hear all of [the criticism]. Yeah, it does annoy you and we’re fed up of it,” O’Driscoll, who looked to have won it for Cork with a late goal, told RTÉ Sport.

“[It was] agonising [to concede the late point], yeah, but a good performance in the second half.

"We’ll take a lot from it, positives and negatives going to the next day.

“We’re looking to perform like this and better every time we go out so we’ll move on to the next day.”
