The Munster Council has announced a grant package of €3.75 million for the redevelopment of Páirc Uí Chaoimh, which is due to begin later in the year.

The project will cost €70m in total.

The five other counties in the province have been allocated €500,000 each for work on county grounds and centres of excellence.

The Munster Council chairman, Robert Frost, said large attendances at games had allowed the Council to redistribute income to counties and clubs.
