The weekend was dominated by football, with Croke Park hosting the first of the All-Ireland quarter finals and the last of the qualifiers.

The most high-profile clash came on Sunday afternoon as Mayo faced Cork in what turned out to be a thrilling encounter. A flurry of late goals - two for Cork - was not enough to save the 2010 champions.

Mayo will face Kerry in the semi-finals after the Kingdom proved far too strong for Galway in another high-scoring game. We look ahead to the semi-final and speak to both managers.

Saturday saw the final round of football qualifiers and a first championship win for Monaghan in Croke Park in 84 years. They held on for an extra-time win over Kildare in the rain and set up a quarter-final meeting with All-Ireland champions Dublin. In the remaining qualifier, Armagh produced a storming second-half performance to knock out Meath and book their place in the last eight against Donegal.
