Tommy Walsh’s AFL season has been ended by a hamstring injury sustained during Sydney Swans’ Saturday night match against Essendon.
Swans’ official website, www.sydneyswans.com.au, says the ‘horror injury’ will require a ‘season ending operation.’
The timing of the injury is unfortunate for the former Kerry star as he had featured for two of the last three weeks in the absence of team mate Sam Reid.
Walsh left Kerry for St Kilda in 2009, before signing for the Swans in 2011, who he is contracted with until the end of 2014.
