Seanie Johnston's move to play for Kildare has been rejected by the CCCC

Seanie Johnson has had his transfer appeal from Cavan Gaels to St Kevin’s in Kildare rejected by the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee for the second time.

The former Cavan half-forward was hoping to line out for Kildare in this year’s Championship but will now not be eligible for the first round.

But Johnson will now launch another appeal with the Central Appeals Committee (CAC) in an attempt to join up with Kieran McGeeney’s side for the remainder of the Leinster championship.

Should Johnson fail again in his bid to switch counties, the issue will likely be brought to the Disputes Resolution Authority, who will have the final say on Johnson’s inter-county future.
