The GAA and the GPA have announced the nominees for the 2011 GAA GPA All-Star Players of the Year and Young Players of the Year Awards.
Dublin’s Alan Brogan and Stephen Cluxton along with Kerry’s Darran O’Sullivan make up the shortlist for Footballer of the Year, while Kilkenny’s Michael Fennelly and Tommy Walsh and Pádraic Maher of Tipperary are up for the Hurler of the Year award.
The overall winners will be chosen by inter-county players and announced at the All-Star banquet at Convention Centre Dublin on Friday 21 October.
The All-Star football and hurling teams will be presented with their awards on the evening and the Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year Awards in both football and hurling in addition to the Christy Ring, Nicky Rackard and Lory Meagher Players of the Year will also be announced on the night.
The event will be screened live on RTÉ One and RTÉ.ie (WW).
