Ricky Nixon, the AFL agent who has extensively scouted and recruited GAA players in Ireland, has been suspended from holding a licence as a player agent for two years.
He admitted to ‘inappropriate dealings’ with a 17-year-old girl involved in a drugs and sex scandal involving the St Kilda Club and his licence was revoked after an investigation carried out by the AFL Players Association's.
‘The board has found that Ricky has in recent times made serious errors of judgement, which warrant a serious response,’ said AFLPA agent accreditation board chairman Ian Prendergast.
Nixon expressed his ‘disappointment’ at the sentence in a statement and said he may appeal the ban.
