Ballaghaderreen will bid for a sixth GAA Handball All-Ireland 40x20 Club Championship title in Kingscourt, Cavan on Saturday.

The Mayo club have dominated this event for the past number of years thanks to the talents of Dessie Keegan, Joe McCann, Vinny Moran, Paul Flynn, Campbell Brennan and more recently, rising young star, Stephen Cooney.

In the first semi-final at the Cavan venue, the men from the West will take on Kells, Kilkenny, who boost top young players such as Patrick and Peter Funchion, while Brian Manogue has collected Intermediate All-Ireland titles in recent years.

The second semi will see the most famous clubs in the country do battle as Cork’s Ballydesmond take on Carrickmore from Tyrone. The Rebels will be looking for a big performance from Tony Healy, while the talismanic Caolan Daly should have a major impact on Carrickmore’s fortunes.

Daly has just returned from San Diego where he collected an underage US National title.

Meanwhile, in Sunday’s Junior Club Championship Final, it will be Salthill of Galway taking on Cork’s Liscarroll, while Kells of Meath face Monaghan club St Mellan's in the Junior B Club Final.
