The destination of the 2010 GAA Handball All Ireland Senior Singles Softball Championship will be decided following another final title showdown involving Dublin's Eoin Kennedy and Westmeath's Robbie McCarthy.

Kennedy, chasing a seventh successive singles triumph (eighth in total), will face McCarthy in next weekend's final following a very impressive semi-final win over Wexford's Gavin Buggy on Saturday evening in Abbeylara.

In a repeat of the 2010 Leinster final, Kennedy was always in control of this contest and ran out the winner on a 21-5, 21-9 scoreline.

The second semi-final proved to be an absorbing contest involving 16-times singles champion, Michael Ducksy Walsh (Kilkenny), and last year's runner-up, Robbie McCarthy.

The 22-year-old Westmeath star took a firm grip by winning the opening game 21-12 but Walsh exhibited his unequivocal class on countless occasions to lead by 19-17 in the second game and looked set to send the duo to a tie-break encounter.

However, McCarthy will have taken terrific confidence from the fact he then secured the vital aces at such a crucial stage to run out the victor by 21-19.

Eoin Kennedy and Robbie McCarthy will now face off in the 2010 title decider next Saturday, 4 September, with the action in Abbeylara, Longford, at 4.45pm. The tie will be preceded by the Minor Singles Final (2pm) and Intermediate Doubles final (3.15pm).
