Dublin's Eoin Kennedy and Egin Jensen were forced to pull out all of the stops to take the All-Ireland Senior Doubles Hardball title on Sunday.
The two young Limerick stars Seamus O’Carroll and CJ Fitzpatrick asked serious questions of the talented Dubliners.
In the first game, the sides were level at 10-10 before Dublin surged five ahead, but thedetermined Limerick duo pulled back five aces to draw equal again.
At 20-20, the experience of Kennedy and Jensen told as they finished out the first game with a clinical kill shot from Kennedy to hit 21.
In the second game, Limerick were the dominant force and controlled from start to finish to win 21-5.
However, it was the third game which provided the most excitement.
Dublin looked to have done enough and were 15-12 up and cruising, but a resolute Limerick duo came back to go 17-15 to the good.
However, it wasn't meant to be for the Treaty County men as Kennedy and Jensen finished superbly to retain the crown they lost in 2009 with a 21-17 victory.
