Wicklow manager Mick O’Dwyer has said he would like to become the next Ireland International Rules manager.
O’Dwyer has in the past expressed an interest in the position but has so far been overlooked, with Sean Boylan in charge for the 2006 and 2008 series against Australia.
O’Dwyer said: ‘Well I suppose Central Council are the people that appoint the manager and I would have no say in that to be honest.
‘I'm interested in anything that is going - I certainly would (like the Ireland job).’
A final decision on the next manager won’t be decided until the new year.
O'Dwyer managed Kerry to eight All-Irelands in the 70s and 80s and has also managed Kildare, Laois and Wicklow.
