The prospect of keeping Croke Park open for rugby and soccer when the Aviva Stadium is completed has been supported by GAA Presidental candidate Noel Walsh.

Walsh, a former head of the Munster Council, told www.hoganstand.com: ‘I'll be starting the process in my own club, St Jospeh’s, and we'll take it from there.

‘Central Council is the body which should decide on the use of Croke Park, just as they have done for the past few years’

However, it is believed Aviva have threatened to pull out on their sponsorship deal for the re-developed Lansdowne Road if any games are moved as it would be a breach of contract.
