Roscommon’s Gerry Fallon claimed the M Donnely All-Ireland Poc Fada title on Saturday, edging out Tipperary star Brendan Cummins by a single poc in testing conditions.
Fallon, who was trailing the reigning champion by two pocs at the last turning point on the 5km mountain course, came home strong and claimed the title.
In the pairs event, Fallon and Cummins were victorious with 121 pocs.
Patricia Jackman from Waterford was a very popular winner of the ladies’ equivalent, while it was further joy for Roscommon as Noel Fallon claimed the Under-16 title.
