In other news from Saturday's meeting of the GAA's Central Council issues over playing gear being used as a marketing tool were ironed out.

Decisions were taken to counter existing loopholes which facilitated ambush marketing on playing gear. It was confirmed that manufacturers branding only could be used on hurling helmets.

Additionally it was stated that players are free to may enter into contractual arrangements with boot manufacturers.
