The first solid indication that the GAA may be about to formally recognise the Gaelic Players Association emerged today with a joint statement from both Associations providing details of a meeting held in Croke Park on Monday.
The parties are to prepare discussion documents over the coming weeks aimed at completing the process during the current presidential term.
The issue of Government Grants for GAA senior inter-county hurling and football squads was also discussed, however both sides are waiting on clarification from the Minister Sport on issues previously raised.
