The Australian International Rules footballer Brendan Fevola has returned to Ireland to answer allegations that he was involved in an incident with a barman in a Galway city centre hotel last week.
RTÉ News understands he will not be charged with any offence but will receive what is described as an 'adult caution' from a Garda superintendent in Galway later today.
Fevola, one of Australia's leading goal scorers, was suspended following the incident in Galway's Imperial Hotel.
It had been reported he was returning to Australia but it is now believed he spent the past week in a European city while discussions relating to the incident took place.
