Irish International rules coach Sean Boylan will not name his side for the first International Rules test against Australia until just before the game at Prease Stadium in Galway this evening.

Boylan was due to name his side yesterday but is now playing his cards close to his chest in the hope of springing a surprise on the Australians.

Kieran McGeeney will captain the side and knows that Ireland will have to be at their best. 'We know the standard we have to get up to. It's there for everyone to see after last year,' he said.

'We'll have to do better in both areas, both in terms of closing them down and also in setting up chances for ourselves using the mark,' he added.

McGeeney also played down the violent incidents that marred last year's series. 'It's an aggressive sport and people do lose their temper from time to time but let's get rid of the negatives and home in on the positives,' he said.
