GAA President Nicky Brennan has confirmed Sean Boylan as Coca-Cola International Rules manager for this Autumn's Test series against Australia and for the tour to Australia in 2007.

The former Meath manager succeeds Pete McGrath in the post.

In his time as boss of the Royal County, from 1982 until his retirement from the position in the summer of 2005, Boylan gained national renown as he led the Royal County to All-Ireland victories in 1987, 1988, 1996 and 1999.

In this time, Meath were also crowned National League champions in 1988, 1990 and 1994, and won the Centenary Cup in 1984.

Mr Brennan described Boylan as one of the finest managers in the game and said that the former Meath boss was widely respected for all that he had achieved in his remarkable career.

Boylan's backroom team will include Eoin 'Bomber' Liston (Kerry), Padraig Joyce (Galway), Anthony Tohill (Derry) and Hugh Kenny (Wicklow).

It was also confirmed that this year's first Test will be played on 28 or 29 October in Galway's Pearse Stadium, with the second Test down for decision in Croke Park on either Saturday, 4 November or Sunday, 5 November.
