The draw has been made for the 2006 O'Byrne, Walsh and Kehoe Cup football and hurling competitions.
The O'Byrne Cup first round will see Leinster SFC champions Dublin battling against UCD, while new Meath boss Eamonn Barry will open his competitive reign against the students of DCU.
Paul Caffrey's Dubs will face the Royals in the semi-finals if both sides progress through.
Mick O'Dwyer's Laois, 0-17 to 0-12 final winners over Westmeath last January, start their campaign against Athlone IT.
Meanwhile, last season's Walsh Cup champions Kilkenny face Laois first up in 2006. Recently crowned Dublin SHC champions UCD will clash with the Cats in the last-four if they beat the winners of the preliminary tie between Westmeath and Down.
Brian Cody's Kilkenny side beat Wexford 1-13 to 0-10 to claim the title last February.
Holders Carlow have gotten a bye to the second round of the 2006 Kehoe SH Cup where they will line-out against either Monaghan or neighbours Wicklow.
The dates and throw-in times for each competition are to be confirmed.
