Members of the Gaelic Players Association have come out in favour of opening Croke Park to other sports according to a recent survey.
The GPA has confirmed that 69% of players are in favour of opening Croke Park to other sporting codes.
In a 106 question Survey of Player Welfare Standards for Senior Inter County Gaelic Games Players, conducted by UCD on behalf of the GPA, the players were asked "Do you feel that Croke Park should be opened to other sports?"
Of the 600 questionnaires returned to date, 69% (413) voted in favour; 23% (137) of players voted against, whilst 8% (50) ticked the "Don't know" box.
Due for completion in the coming weeks, the survey is the first comprehensive analysis of player welfare in the GAA's 121 year history.
