The Tipperary County Board have voted in favour of giving the GAA's Central Council the authority to consider opening Croke Park to other sports.

The vote, held at a meeting last night, was an overwhelming victory for those who support changes to Rule 42 with the board voting 62 to 16 in favour of the motion.

However, the motion only supports the opening of Croke Park to other sports while Lansdowne Road - home to Ireland's soccer and rugby teams - is under redevelopment.
