Sunday's Dr McKenna Cup round-up

Holders Tyrone confirmed their spot in the 2005 Dr McKenna Cup final as goals from Stephen O'Neill, Sean Cavanagh and substitutes Michael Murphy and Martin Penrose saw them blitz Antrim 4-21 to 1-10 in Edendork.

Mickey Harte's outfit's third win of Section A was set up by a strong first half display (leading 2-12 to 0-05) - both O'Neill (1-06) and Cavanagh (1-03) shared the bulk of the Red Hands' scoring.

The Saffrons' only chink of light came when Kevin Brady goaled in the second half.

Also in Section A, Larry Reilly's goal was the difference in Cavan's 1-10 to 0-11 win over UUJ.

2004 All-Ireland semi-finalists Fermanagh qualified for a semi-final meeting with either Derry, Queen's or Armagh after their 3-13 to 0-15 Section C defeat of St Mary's in Irvinestown.

The Ernesiders had Rory Gallagher to thank for a half-time lead, despite the former Dublin target also missing an early penalty kick.

Gallagher's cousin Raymie and Mark Little tagged on second half majors as Mary's - who had both Mark McCullough and Terry O'Neill sent off for two yellow cards each - were outclassed.

Fergal Duffy and Tom Freeman both goaled in Monaghan's 2-15 to 0-13 victory over Donegal. Dick Clerkin struck nine points in a man-of-the-match display in Clones.

Derry and Down's red hot Section B clash saw the Mourne side's Joe Doran dismissed and the visitors win out 0-09 to 0-05 in Newry.

The Oak Leafers had Paddy Bradley to thank again as he hit a match-winning 0-06 to lead Mickey Moran's side to another pleasing win, following last week's defeat of Armagh.

Joe Kernan's Orchard side are still in the hunt after overcoming Queen's University 0-08 to 0-07 in Crossmaglen.

Midfielders Andrew McCann and Gareth Swift helped Armagh claim their second Section B win.
