The chief executive of the Ladies' Football Association, Helen O'Rourke, today expressed her disappointment at the Kildare and Galway county boards refusal to refix their senior men's county finals, which clash with the women's All-Ireland deciders on Sunday.

The women's game's showpiece features Dublin and Galway at 3.10pm after Kildare and Sligo have contested the junior final at 1.15pm.

However, the Kildare and Galway county boards are unlikely to budge on the matter at such a late stage.

O'Rourke today suggested that the county boards could switch the games to Saturday so that both counties could maximise their support at Croke Park on Sunday.

The Galway board last week claimed they had asked the Connacht Council to postpone their county champions' clash with their Sligo counterparts, scheduled to take place in two weeks time. However, the board claimed they did not receive a reply to that request.

St Laurence's and Allenwood are scheduled to contest the Dermot Burke Cup in Kildare, while Salthill-Knocknacarra take on Killererin in the Galway decider.
