Mayo will appeal the decision by Cumann Peil Gael na mBan to suspend the county's Ladies team over the ongoing row over kit suppliers.
The reigning All-Ireland champions were suspended from "all activities of the Association" following a meeting of the association's Central Council on Wednesday night. The decision prevents the Western Ladies from defending their All-Ireland crown.
The row stems from the fact that Mayo had a deal with manufacturers Azzurri, even though the association had secured a general contract with O'Neill's for all counties. Mayo received a directive not to wear their Azzurri kit for last year's All-Ireland final against Dublin, but the instruction was ignored.
A letter of appeal has been submitted to the Connacht Council who will raise the issue at a Central Council meeting in Dublin tonight, where its believed the appeal will be heard, ahead of Mayo's NFL semi-final against Waterford, due to take place tomorrow.
Mayo delegates, who met into the early hours of this morning, said that there was new evidence, which was not fully communicated to the independent mediator, John Prenty. They say they accept the nine recommendations set out by the mediator, subject to amendments on two points.
In relation to the reduced fine of €2,200, they want this donated to a charity of the mediator's choice. They also want Mayo be given leave to honour their contract with kit makers, Azurri.
A vote of no confidence in the executive was carried and County Chairman PJ Loftus said that at next Monday night's meeting they will resign in block.
