GPA encourage ban on photo-shoots

The Gaelic Players Assocation (GPA) are set to encourage inter-county teams not to pose for team photographs in advance of matches this coming season. Last Sunday, Dublin refused to sit for the traditional pre-match shot before their National League game with Armagh.

The Dubs now plan to take just one photograph in advance of this summer's championship, and to then charge any organisation for use of the image. GPA chief-executive Dessie Farrell insists the measure is a way of fundraising for the team, not a form of protest.
