The GAA has become the lastest sporting organisation to give its reaction to Government proposals to list key sporting events for terrestrial television. The GAA confirmed that they have no objection in principle to the Government proposals for the Association, as outlined in the draft list of protected sports events for television.
President Sean McCague has stated that there is an onus on the GAA to ensure that their games are readily available on free-to-air TV channels. "The Association is looking forward to meeting with the Minister as part of the consultation process when the GAA will have the opportunity to put its position in respect of all of the issues raised by the proposals," read a statement this afternoon.
