All Handball competition suspended

The Árd Comhairle handball committee met at Croke Park last weekend to discuss concerns regarding the Foot and Mouth crisis and worries involving the movement of players across the border. During the meeting it was agreed that all handball competition be suspended for the foreseeable future.

A nationwide programme of All-Ireland semi-finals was planned for 12 venues next weekend while the All-Ireland finals in all grades were due to be staged in May. No fixtures have as of yet been rescheduled although it is thought that the 40 x 20 championships may be postponed until next October. The future of the Hardball Championship and the entire 60 x 30 season is now in doubt.
