Veteran forward Peter Brady returned to the Offaly squad over the weekend, giving fresh hope to the Faithful county ahead of their Leinster semi-final replay with Kildare at Croke Park. Brady, 36, has been out of action for a number of months after suffering a serious injury to his hip last November.
Brady notched up 1-4 in a challenge match with his club Edenderry at the weekend and Offaly manager Pádraig Nolan discussed the possibility of a return with him afterwards.
Brady revealed that he told Nolan he was available and willing to join the squad, especially if injuries hinder the current panel. "I know I can't just walk back onto the panel and take the place of someone who has been there all winter." he said. Bardy would indeed prove a major addition to the squad with vast experience and a proven quality that Offaly would only be too glad to call on.
