Tipperary have omitted Clonoulty-Rossmore man Declan Ryan from their starting line up for Sunday's Munster Final with Cork in Thurles. The former All-Star had conceded that his battle to regain fitness after sustaining ankle ligament damage in the county's semi-final victory over Clare now looks over. Tipperary have left the centre-forward spot vacant for the time being however, giving Ryan until Saturday to officially be ruled out.
Thurles Sarsfields' Eddie Enright is on standby to take over on the 40, where a daunting duel with last year's Hurler of the Year Brian Corcoran awaits him. Nicky English and his selectors have otherwise named the same side that started against Clare last time out.
Ryan's disappointment was clear when he admitted, "To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement. When you get to this stage of your career, there are not many chances left to play in a Munster final!"
