Meath captain Graham Geraghty and Derry goalkeeper Eoin McCloskey have both been suspended for 8 weeks by the the Games Administration Committee of the GAA. Geraghty was sent off in the drawn league final against Derry, while McCloskey was accused of verbally abusing officials in the tunnel after the game.
The Meath county board used video evidence in Geraghty's defence at Croke Park last night, but today the GAC confirmed that the Meath captain had recieved 2 bans of 4 and 8 weeks to run concurrently from the 7th of May.
The bans will be costly for both counties as the players will miss Saturday's League final replay, and Geraghty will also miss Meath's Leinster Championship clash against Offaly and the semi-final should they qualify. McCloskey will be ruled-out of the Ulster semi-final against either Antrim or Down.
