With the decision of the Armagh County Board to vote against the Football Development Committee's (FDC) proposals to revamp the football championship, those counties that opted to reject the proposal now have an overall majority for any vote at Congress. This will come as a blow to the FDC, who were seeking to boost the image of the game and mirror the success of the Hurling championship since the introduction of the 'backdoor system'.
