GAA: Carey out for Tipperary clash

DJ Carey is out of the Kilkenny team to play Tipperary in Sunday's Church and General Hurling League Division 1B match at Semple Stadium because of a shoulder injury. That game will now start at 4:00pm in Semple Stadium. Paddy Mullaly, Brian McEvoy and Sean Meally are all carrying injuries from the Waterford game. Both Cork hurlers and footballers will be in action on Sunday.

The footballers are at home to Tyrone in a game originally fixed for Saturday, while the hurlers travel to Walsh Park to take on Waterford. Dual stars Sean Og O'Hailpin and Timmy McCarthy are both expected to play for the hurlers. Meanwhile Full back Nigel Clancy is almost certain to miss Sligo's Division One A National Football league clash with Kildare because of a hamstring injury. Noel Maguire will come into the side if Clancy is declared unfit.
