GAA: Cork name team for Kerry match

Defending Champions Cork have named a strong team for their Division 1A match with Kerry in the opening round of the Church and General National football league on Saturday. Michael O'Donovan, who missed both the Munster and All-Ireland finals because of a shoulder injury, comes in at left corner-back in place of Anthony Lynch. Lynch will be involved with his club in the county intermediate football championship final on Sunday. Brendan Walsh of Clonakilty will make his senior debut at right half-forward while dual star Sean Og O hAilpin plays in his usual position at full-back.

Kerry welcome back long-term injury casualties Michael Francis Russell and Noel Kenneally, who suffered a broken leg, while Denis O'Dwyer also returns to the line-up after a lengthy absence. Two under-21 players are promoted to the Kerry team - Tom O'Sullivan at corner back and Enda Galvin at left half-back. Barry O'Shea must undergo a fitness test so a vacancy is left at full back and Seamus Moynihan moves to midfield to partner Donal Daly.

Tyrone have four league debutantes in their side to play Dublin at Omagh on Sunday. All four are in defence - goalkeeper Martin Conway, corner backs Ciaran Howe and Michael Magee, while 19 year old Cormac McAnallen, the Captain of the All Ireland Minor winning team comes in at centre half back. Peter Canavan will lead an experienced attack from the 40 with Brian Meenan lining out at left corner forward.
