Dublin have been dealt a major boost with the news that Con O'Callaghan has been named in their team to face Louth in Round 1 of the All-Ireland Football Championship.
The six-time All-Ireland winner came off at half-time with a hamstring injury in the opening round of the Leinster championship against Wicklow and did not feature against Louth or Westmeath in the provincial final.
The Cuala man was named to start the semi-final encounter with Louth, but has been absent from the match-day panel since the win over the Garden County.
O’Callaghan is one of two changes from the side that fell to Westmeath after extra-time in Croke Park, with Greg McEneaney also drafted in.
Theo Clancy and Peadar Ó Cofaigh Byrne, who departed early with an injury against the Lake County after a dominant start, miss out, with the Dubs moving Ciarán Kilkenny to midfield to partner Brian Howard and O’Callaghan handed the 11 jersey.
Dublin: Evan Comerford; Greg McEneaney, Nathan Doran, David Byrne; Seán MacMahon, Charlie McMorrow, Eoin Kennedy; Ciarán Kilkenny, Byrne, Brian Howard; Seán Bugler, Con O’Callaghan, Niall Scully; Paddy Small, Killian McGinnis, Cormac Costello.
