Two second-half goals from midfielder Stephen McGullion cemented a fine display for Fermanagh in their Tailteann Cup clash against a wasteful Wexford at a sunny Brewster Park.
And a five- star display from man of the match Darragh McGurn who hit 0-08, was also key in pushing the Erne men into a home quarter-final tie in three weeks.
The home side led by 0-12 to 0-05 at half-time, but Wexford were very unlucky not to be awarded a penalty just before the break.
To make matters worse they were penalised for dissent and Fermanagh's Garvan Jones landed a two-pointer which was a possible five-point turnaround.
Both sides hit two goals in the second half with Wexford sub Sean Ryan getting both maximums, but Fermanagh always had the upper hand, especially after Stephen McGullion replied in kind.
The Ernesiders were quick out of the traps with Conor Love finishing off a fine five-man move with a fisted point after two minutes.
Darragh McGurn doubled the advantage with a well-struck left-footed effort as Sean Nolan responded with a converted Wexford free.
The home side could have had a goal but Joe McDade’s rasper cannoned off the crossbar and was fisted over by Garvan Jones.
McGurn then weighed in with a two-pointer as the hosts kept up a frenetic pace.
Love added another point as Pauric Hughes replied with a point for the wasteful visitors who hit eight wides in the opening half.
Conor McGee made it 0-07 to 0-02 and Mattie McDermott made it a six-point game as Ronan McCaffrey stretched the lead lead to seven points.
And while Wexford were profiting from Fermanagh kickouts, their forwards were misfiring.
Veteran Ben Brosnan hit two frees on the bounce as Jones responded with a minor for Fermanagh.
Wexford threw on Sean Ryan and his speed was causing the Erne side some major headaches.
Brosnan made it 0-10 to 0-05 and then Wexford were incensed when Ryan was held back when he looked certain to goal. Referee Kieran Eannetta kept his whistle silent.
To compound matters Fermanagh went down the field and Jones landed a two-pointer after the ball was brought forward for dissent.
This was effectively a five- point swing as the Erne County led by 0-12 to 0-05 at the break.
Eoghan Nolan got the first score of the half, but this was quickly cancelled by a well struck two-pointer from McGurn.
Ryan narrowed the gap with a goal which was answered by a high ball that was punched to the net by Stephen McGullion.
Glen Malone narrowed the gap to three points before Josh Largo Ellis gave the winners some breathing space.
Ryan struck for goal again, but McGullion replied in kind. Both sides ran their benches in the final quarter with McGurn orchestrating matters.
Subs Conor O’Hanlon and Ciaran Corrigan pointed for the winners as Wexford replied through Eoghan Nolan.
But McGurn had the last say with a final clinching point.
