For the second year in succession, Leinster GAA has decided to stage its senior football semi-finals outside of Croke Park.
Last year saw Leinster GAA switch both provincial semi-finals outside of GAA HQ.
That change was the first occasion since 1995 that both provincial last-four encounters were not played at Croke Park.
The 2024 Leinster semi-final double-header attracted just over 21,000 to Jones' Road, making it the lowest attendance for that stage of the competition for 14 years.
Leinster Council looked at recent semi-finals and factoring in a lack of an atmosphere, they chose to move provincial grounds.
The Dublin and Meath affair in Portlaoise was played in front of 10,000 and resulted in a huge championship shock.
In Tullamore, almost 7,000 watched as Louth beat Kildare to earn them a third Leinster final slot on the trot for the first time since 1914.
Then a bumper crowd of 65,000 turned up for the final, a significant jump on the 23,113 that attended the 2024 decider between the Dubs and Louth.
This year’s semi-finals will be played at Glenisk O’Connor Park in Tullamore and Laois Hire O’Moore Park in Portlaoise on the first weekend of May.
Both venues could also host quarter-finals in mid-April as could Cedral St Conleth’s Park and Echelon Park in Aughrim.
