Dublin-Donegal headline opening round double-header in 2026 Allianz Football League

Dublin and Donegal will meet in the opening round of the 2026 Allianz Football League as part of a Croke Park double-header on Saturday, 24 January.

The 5pm throw-in will see Ger Brennan take charge of his first competitive match as Dublin manager after stepping away from the Louth job, with the Division 1 clash against Jim McGuinness' Donegal coming after the Division 2 game between Meath and Derry at 3pm.

The other Division 1 fixtures from the opening weekend fall on Sunday, 25 January with Connacht rivals Galway and Mayo going head-to-head in Salthill at 1.45pm, before All-Ireland champions Kerry take on Roscommon and Monaghan go up against Armagh in 2pm throw-ins in Killarney and Clones respectively.

Meanwhile, All-Ireland champions Tipperary will open up Division 1A of the Allianz Hurling League against Galway on the Saturday at Semple Stadium with a 7pm start time. That will follow the afternoon fixtures between Carlow v Down and Wexford v Antrim in 1B.

The following day, Kilkenny v Offaly and Cork v Waterford will begin their 1A campaigns, while Clare and Dublin meet in Ennis in 1B.
