Armagh attacking ace Stefan Campbell has retired from inter-county duty.
The Clan na Gael clubman, who made a huge impact in the county's 2024 All-Ireland success, informed management and players of his decision in recent days, and is one of a number of players to exit alongside the likes of Ciaron O'Hanlon and Ciaran Higgins.
Campbell first joined the panel in 2011 and made his championship debut two years later.
Over time, 'Soupy' became one of the country's most effective forwards with his cameos off the bench proving electric and often game-changing.
That was certainly the case in the 2024 All-Ireland final as moments after coming on, he made the run and pass that set up Aaron McKay for the game's only goal as Kieran McGeeney's side won by a point.
Although earning a super-sub moniker that season, Campbell started five of their nine championship games before being held back for impact in those crucial knock-out games.
O'Hanlon made his championship debut a couple of weeks before Campbell having been drafted into the squad a few weeks prior having starred in the MacRory Cup with St Paul's, Bessbrook.
The Killeavy ace featured regularly under McGeeney as the Ulster side ascended the ranks in his early years but found opportunities more limited in recent seasons with injuries playing a part.
Maghery defender Higgins started Armagh's All-Ireland round-robin clash with Galway last year, ultimately a crucial draw that saw the side top the group.
Meanwhile, All-Star defender Barry McCambridge is facing up to five months on the side-lines after rupturing ligaments in his foot on club duty recently while Rory Grugan and Connaire Mackin will be travelling and will link up with the squad at a later date.
Talented dual youngster Tomas Galvin is set to put his Irish League career behind him to make a mark on McGeeney's squad. The Keady youngster has been playing with Dungannon Swifts but is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Oisín Conaty who turned his focus to Armagh and is expected to earn a second consecutive All-Star in the coming weeks.
