A meeting of the Ard Chomhairle of the GAA has confirmed that the association's partnership with Allianz has been referred to their Ethics and Integrity Committee.

The insurance company has sponsored the GAA's National League competitions since 1993, with an agreement to continue the partnership until 2030. The organisation also sponsors the Camogie Association as well as Cumann na mBunscol activities.

Allianz was among a series of companies listed in a report by UN special rapporteur on Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories Francesca Albanese.

Last month, close to 800 current and former players from Gaelic football, hurling, camogie and women's football signed a petition, which was handed over at Croke Park.

Elsewhere during the meeting, Galway GAA was granted permission to host six of Galway United's SSE Airtricity League games next summer.

Eamonn Deacy Park is set to undergo drainage works next summer and United had sought permission from the FAI to look to use the county GAA ground at Salthill.

Galway GAA had already given the proposal their backing but they needed the approval of Croke Park to proceed with the move.

United are currently eighth in the Premier Division and are in a battle with fellow Connacht side Sligo Rovers to avoid ending up in the promotion/relegation play-off, which could see them drop to the First Division.
