Former Meath manager Andy McEntee has joined Gabriel Bannigan's management team in Monaghan ahead of the 2026 season.
McEntee, who vacated at the Antrim manager's post following their championship exit this year, will replace the departed Andy Moran in the Monaghan set-up, the former Footballer of the Year having left to take charge of his native Mayo for next year.
The county confirmed the move in a statement this evening, saying that McEntee would "bring a wealth of experience to the role having previously guided the Meath minors to an All-Ireland final and Ballyboden to an All-Ireland club title."
After overseeing Ballyboden's All-Ireland winning campaign of 2015/16, McEntee subsequently took charge of his native Meath between the 2017 and 2022 seasons, guiding them to promotion to Division 1 in 2019 and the Super 8s the same year.
He was latterly manager of Antrim between 2023 and 2025, leading them to two successive Tailteann Cup semi-finals though their most recent league campaign concluded with relegation to Division 4.
Monaghan will begin 2026 in Division 1 after a successful first year in charge for Bannigan, which yielded a Division 2 title and an All-Ireland quarter-final appearance.
