Former Roscommon manager Davy Burke is returning to the Kildare fold after being confirmed as part of Brian Flanagan's backroom team for the 2026 campaign.
Kildare GAA confirmed his arrival into the senior set-up on X on Thursday evening.
The 37-year old established his managerial credentials after guiding Kildare to the All-Ireland Under-20 title in 2018.
He subsequently guided his club Sarsfields to the Kildare SFC title in 2019, putting a halt to Moorefield's three-in-a-row bid.
After a season in Wicklow - where he became the youngest ever senior inter-county manager - Burke was in the shake-up to replace Jack O'Connor as Kildare manager but was overlooked in favour of former captain Glenn Ryan.
Burke spent three seasons in Roscommon, where he guided them to an All-Ireland quarter final in 2024 and promotion back to Division 1 in 2025 but last year's championship ended on a bum note, with a group stage exit following a loss to Cork in O'Moore Park.
Kildare, who secured promotion to Division 2 earlier this year, are guaranteed Sam Maguire football in 2026 after winning the Tailteann Cup in early July, holding off Limerick in the final.
