Munster Under-20 Football Championship

Cork 1-11 Tipperary 0-14

Kerry 3-23 Clare 0-11

Old rivals Cork and Kerry will meet in Dalata Hotel Group Munster Under-20 Football final after a contrasting night for both counties.

The Kingdom recorded a facile 21-point victory over the already-eliminated Clare, while a late free for the hosts at Supervalu Páirc Uí Chaoimh secured a draw against Tipperary, and in doing so, advanced the Rebels to the decider at the Premier County's expense.

A run of four points saw Tipp take a lead heading towards injury time, and they had a goal chance to seal the win. However, Liam Freaney was bottled up and Cork immediately countered, with Micheál Maguire fouled and Jonathan Hayes stepping up to land the levelling free.

Cork and Tipp finished level on three points apiece but the Rebels' superior score difference saw them progress, where they will take on Kerry for the ninth time in 10 years.

At Austin Stack Park, it was far more straightforward as Tomás Ó Sé’s side coasted to a 3-22 to 0-11 victory.

Killian Dennehy, Eddie Healy and Tomás Kennedy raised green flags in the opening half as they led by 18 points at the interval.

The same level of intensity wasn’t there in the second half, yet the margin was pushed out to 21 points by time the contest was brought to a conclusion in Tralee.
