The Antrim football team can finally let their football do the talking following their hard-fought and extensive campaign to play their upcoming Ulster championship match against Armagh at Corrigan Park.

Due to the limited capacity of the Belfast venue, efforts were made to move the game out of County Antrim, however, the players stood firm and demanded their right to home advantage was maintained.

And on Monday night the Ulster CCC confirmed that Corrigan Park will be the venue for the quarter-final clash between Antrim and Armagh on 12 April.

As a result, the squad members have released a statement to say thanks to all those who supported their campaign, while paying tribute to the Armagh panel who remained patient throughout.

They also reiterated the Ulster CCC's call for the urgent redevelopment of Casement Park.

The statement released on behalf of the players read: "We welcome the decision of the Ulster Council to reinstate Corrigan Park as the venue for our Ulster Championship clash with Armagh. We believe this is an important step for fairness and for upholding the integrity of the competition.

We want to sincerely thank our manager Andy McEntee, the entire management team, the Antrim County Board, and the Antrim supporters for standing with us throughout this process.

"To the wider GAA community, thank you for listening and for recognising the significance of our stance.

"We also acknowledge Ulster GAA for engaging with the concerns raised and for ultimately supporting a resolution that reflects the spirit of the championship.

"This situation has also underlined the ongoing need for progress on Casement Park. Antrim, and Ulster, deserve a modern stadium worthy of our games and our communities.

"Finally, we express our appreciation to the Armagh players for their patience as this situation unfolded, and to our fellow inter-county players and the Gaelic Players Association for your continued support.

"We now want to draw a line under this and concentrate all our efforts on on field matters."
