Limerick earned promotion to Division 3 of the Allianz Football League for next year after a 4-24 to 1-17 victory over Waterford at Mick Neville Park.
The win sets up a league final with Wexford at Croke Park for Jimmy Lee's men this coming Saturday.
A stunning performance from James Naughton, that yielded 4-12, set Limerick on their way to the 16-point winning margin.
Limerick made the early running but were wayward in front of goal with three wides and Waterford took full advantage with a goal from their first attack.
A solo and go from Rory Furlong caught Limerick on the hop. Conor Murray and James Power combined to put Tholom Guiry and he slotted the ball past Jeffrey Alfred in the Limerick goal.
However, Limerick responded with a goal of their own after Darragh Ó Siochrú’s pass missed a few players and fell to Naughton, who fired into the bottom corner.
Waterford were on the front foot moments later with two pointers from Dermot Ryan and Power to go 1-04 from 1-00 ahead after nine minutes.
Jason Curry made it a five-point lead before Limerick got a grip on the game. Naughton sent over two frees and then one from play to cut the gap to two.
An excellent Darragh O’Hagan kick from then saw the minimum but William Beresford’s effort restored Waterford’s two-point advantage.
Limerick were back on level terms by the 23rd minute after Paul Maher and Naughton raised white flags that left the score at 1-06 apiece.
Jimmy Lee’s men then fashioned another goal chance with Ó Siochrú and Naughton combining to see the latter palm in his second goal of the afternoon.
The same man then landed two further frees to bring his total to 2-06 in the first half to stretch Limerick’s lead to five points.
Beresford and Murray got Waterford back to within three before the break but a deserved score from Ó Siochrú saw Limerick lead 2-09 to 1-08 ahead at the short whistle.
It was one way traffic in the second half with Limerick completely dominant. Tommie Childs ran the middle of the park, while Naughton was in unstoppable form up front, while Emmet Rigter chipped in with three points from play.
The St. Senans clubman fired in two second half goals to finish with 4-03 from play as Limerick marched to promotion and to a place at Croke Park next weekend.

Elsewhere in Division 4, Conor Doyle's late goal gave Carlow a narrow win over London in Ruislip.
The home side look set for their third victory of the season, only for Doyle's 64th-minute score to prove crucial in a 1-17 to 1-16 success for the visitors.
Carlow will now be third seeds in the Tailteann Cup draw after finishing fourth in Division 4.
Wexford warmed up for the Division 4 final with a 2-18 to 1-10 win over Longford in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
Cian Hughes and Sean Ryan were the goal scorers for the Model County, with a late consolation goal from the home side putting more respectability on the score line.
Wexford had already secured promotion to Division 3 going into the encounter and will face Limerick in the decider.
