Shane Curran is the new Carlow senior football manager, it has been confirmed.

An All-Ireland club medal winner with St Brigid's in 2013, Curran replaces Niall Carew as the county's new senior boss.

Curran stepped down as manager of the Caulry senior football team in 2023 after three years in charge at the Mount Temple club.

The former St Brigid's and Roscommon goalkeeper led Caulry to their first Westmeath senior championship semi-final since 1946, where they lost out to Coralstown/Kinnegad.

In his time in charge of Padraig Pearses, Curran led the Moore/Taughmaconnell club to two Roscommon SFC final appearances.

Curran was also manager of the Durrow team when they won the won the Offaly Senior 'B' title in recent years.

He also served as Roscommon Under-20 manager.

An accomplished goalkeeper in his playing days, Curran also played in the League of Ireland for Athlone Town.
