The Laois footballers maintained their 100% start to this year's league campaign and remain on track for promotion to Division 3.
They did so after weathering an early Carlow storm, falling five points behind and not scoring until the 25th minute.
The O'Moore men figured it out eventually though, took the lead early in the second half and never looked in any danger from there to the finish.
In the end, 11 points separated the sides, a second double-figure win in a row and a result that leaves Laois firmly in pole position to get out of Division 4.
On a dog of night, with rain teeming down and very difficult underfoot conditions, Carlow came armed for battle and with an eye on a first ever league win over Laois.
Like Laois, they had won their first two games and the sounds were positive.
From the start, they packed the defence when Laois had the ball, almost exclusively conceded the Laois kickout and held possession patiently.
And when Carlow attacked they had a couple of dangerous forwards ready to take the chances that came their way.
With Colm Hulton, Darragh Foley and Jordan Morrissey very influential and all on target, they were 0-05 to no score up after 23 minutes. And it could well have been more, their fifth point coming from a free when a goal chance was on and Morrissey was pulled down.
The Laois defender escaped a black card and Laois got away with conceding just a point.
From there, Laois hit a purple patch and once Damon Larkin eventually got them off the mark with a booming point in the 25th minute, the scores came thick and fast.
Brian Byrne clipped one over off his weaker right foot and then Niall Dunne bombed two fabulous efforts from play in quick succession.
A Killian Roche point levelled things though Carlow did respond with a nice score from Conor Crowley and they went in at the break leading 0-6 to 0-5.
Laois introduced Paul Kingston for the resumption and having hit 1-10 against Carlow in last year's fixture, he was bound to occupy the minds of the defence - and help create chances elsewhere.
It was Shaun Fitzpatrick who got the first two points of the half for Laois, the second an unorthodox soccer-style effort which put them into the lead for the first time.
Laois had a bit of a let off when a Ross Dunphy pass went straight across the goalmouth and the danger was cleared. From the resulting counter attack, Evan O'Carroll set up Kingston who swung over in his typical classy style.
The screw had turned at this stage and with Laois enjoying domination on the Carlow kickout, they essentially wrapped up the game when Eoin Buggie combined well with Damon Larkin in the 45th minute and the Portlaoise man continued his fine start to the season by drilling to the net from distance.
Conor Doyle pulled back a point for Carlow but the mystery was gone from the game at this stage and Laois put the icing on the cake with a Kevin Swayne goal after a delightful pass from Eoin Lowry.
Mark Barry and Killian Roche also kicked a couple of frees for good measure and Brian Daly wrapped up the scoring late on.
The latest Carlow challenge passed, Laois now turn their focus to Tipperary and a trip to Semple Stadium next Sunday.
