Waterford GAA have named former Meath inter-county defender Paul Shankey as the new manager of their senior football team.
Shankey is set to be appointed on a two-year contract with the county board due to ratify the decision at a meeting on Monday evening.
He replaces Ephie Fitzgerald who stepped down following a trying two-year term.
Shankey will be assisted by Mikey Cronin who will also take charge of the county's Under-20 side.
The additional management and backroom personnel for both teams will be named at a later date.
